Space is Limited but there are some spots open. Please call 340-514-6594 if you want to be in the class. basic throwing skills needed.
Monday Feb 11, Tuesday 12th , Thursday 14th, Friday 15th and Saturday 16th. Meets 9-2PM with Ara
demonstrating and teaching. The rest of the day is open studio for participants.
You
may take classes by the day or the whole 5 day week $75. for One Day.
Two Days $130. Three Days $190. Four Days $250. $300. for the entire 5
day week. Lunch is included each day or bring your own. We
are taking off Wednesday to allow for an open studio session from
9AM-12PM which is included in the class. Also that allows for some
weekend people to participate on Friday and Saturday. A Pot Luck
Barbecue and Bonfire is planned for Sunday night 2/17 at Kaye Thomas'
home and studio on the road to Francis Bay.
Ara has taught many times at the Clay Works and is a really fun and fabulous teacher.He
is a 3rd generation English potter whose father , Seth and grandfather
Michael are renowned potters in the English slipware tradition. He
shares tricks for throwing large and fast with bold and fluid slip
design, while entertaining us with “English flavored” storytelling. His
many years as a production potter in England and the U.S. are obvious in
the ease of his fast and masterful throwing. His perceptive teaching style will help you advance your skills
Clay
will be available at a special workshop rate of $25. per 25# bag which
includes a $75. firing fee credit on your studio card. A 12# bag will
cost $12. and comes with a $35. firing fee credit.
